Financial Assistance

The following is a list of area and state agencies that are currently offering financial, food and clothing assistance for those in need:

(Note: This is a new addition to our website – due to popular demand, we are working to add more communities’ information very soon!)

 

ASHLAND AREA ASSISTANCE

Pet Food Pantry – The Checkered Pantry is a newly-formed local organization based out of Ashland that provides a 2-week supply of pet food for those who need some assistance.  There is no income criteria and they will deliver to you if needed.  Call Laura at 419-289-3658 or Maria at 419-289-9893, or Ruth at 419-289-2842. 

Ashland Breakfast Center (hot meal), 322 Cleveland Ave., Saturdays, 8:30 to 10 a.m.

Ashland County Food Bank, 121 South St., Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.

Ashland First United Methodist (hot meal), 220 Sandusky St., second and last Sundays, 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Ashland Mobile Pantry, 31 W. 11th St., third Fridays, 10 a.m. to noon.

Grace Brethren Church (hot meal), 1144 W. Main St., third Sundays, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Maple Grove Church (hot meal), 960 Township Road 964, fourth Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Salvation Army (hot meal), 527 E. Liberty St., Monday to Friday, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Salvation Army (pantry), 527 E. Liberty St., Monday to Friday, 1 to 4 p.m.

St. Edward Hunger Center (hot meal), 501 Cottage St., Wednesdays 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The Pump House Ministries (pantry), 400 Orange St., second and fourth Mondays, 1 to 5 p.m.

LOUDONVILLE AREA ASSISTANCE

Cleveland Food Bank Mobile Pantry – free groceries as passed out the third Friday of every month at the Loudonville Lions Club, 634 Wooster Rd., Loudonville.  For more information, call 419-281-1477. 

Food and gas coupons – Available for emergency situations to residents of Loudonville.  May be used once every 4 months.  For more information, call 419-994-0456 from 10am-3pm.

Loudonville-Perrysville Prescription Fund – Available to residents of the Loudonville-Perrysville school district, you may get help with the cost of your prescriptions, up to $100, as often as once every 6 months.  For more information, call 419-994-4601 between 9am and 4pm.

Helping Hands – 2pm-5pm Tuesdays in the Loudonville Youth Building on North Union Street – emergency assistance is available for utilities, rent, prescriptions, and food for L-P school district residents.

HILLSDALE DISTRICT ASSISTANCE

Trinity Lutheran (hot meal), 18 E. North St., third Thursdays, 5 p.m. 

Jeromesville United Methodist (hot meal), 40 E. North St., fourth Thursdays, 5 p.m.

   

STATEWIDE ASSISTANCE

Food Stamps )now called "Food Assistance Benefits")

Ohio food stamps may be available to your family if you meet the following criteria:

a.      Less than $2,000 in liquid assets (which includes bank accounts, cash, stocks, and savings bonds) or

b.      Less than $3,000 in liquid assets if there are 2 or more people in the household and one is age 60 or older

AND

c.       Your gross (before tax) household income falls below certain levels.
